Kathy and Jason's Wedding – Mother of Divine Providence, 7-21-12

Last month I had the great pleasure to not only witness but also photograph Kathy and Jason's wedding. Perhaps you may remember them from their Baltimore engagement session and if not clearly you can see the love they have for each other... proof is in the photos!

Weddings are such a joy to photograph and document. Just because I'm running around with a camera, doesn't mean I don't get overwhelmed with the emotion of the day. Every couple has a story. How they met, the places and the things they've seen together, their goals and dreams, their goals and dreams together... all these things add up to a unique love specific to two individuals. Look at me, I told you it's emotional!

Kathy and Jason live outside of Baltimore and met at the school they both currently teach at. When I first found out about how they met, my mind starting playing the song "Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen haha. You know the guitar riff is running through your head right now, don't lie!

Kathy and Jason decided on a wedding where she grew up and my hometown, King of Prussia. The ceremony was held at Mother of Divine Providence (MDP) and the reception followed at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge. Speaking of Valley Forge, after the ceremony we headed to Valley Forge park for some portraits.

Kathy and Jason, it was an honor to document your special day. Thank you. Your family, friends and guests were all so warm and welcoming. I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon(s) and I wish you all the best as husband and wife!

Special thanks to Irina Bak for second shooting! She did a wonderful job and was a great help throughout the day.

ETC Theater Performing at the Philly Fringe Festival

I was quite excited when I got a phone call a couple weeks back from Todd, founder of ETC Theater (a local theater group) in need of some cast shots and creative shots for an upcoming show they are putting on at the Philly Fringe Festival titled "The Has Beens."

The play is a comedy about a boy band, "The Boy Toys", who step into fame and are on top of the world in 2008. They have everything as teenagers - fame, money, groupies, stalkers, a sleazy manager... but before they enter their twenties they find themselves just shy of being completely washed up. The play focuses on the Boy Toys attempt at a comeback, a shot at redemption, and a return to glory.

I had a chance to read the script before the shoot and it is extremely funny. I had seen a few of ETC's productions before and have always laughed whole heartedly. I've even been a part of one or two, playing guitar with a good friend of mine. Todd along with his wife/director Emily (and their children) put their hearts into these productions and "The Has Beens" is no exception.

The Has Beens runs September 7, 12, 13, and 14 at 8:00 pm, September 8 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and September 9 at 6:00 pm at the Shubin Theater, 407 Bainbridge Street, Philadelphia 19147.

The Shubin Theater is a really neat place to see a show. It's small, intimate and every seat gets you close to the action. Bainbridge Street runs parallel to South Street so it is easy to get to. I strongly urge you to come out and see this production. The cast members take what they do very seriously and are sure to deliver numerous laughs. For tickets and more info click here

GO SEE THE SHOW.
It's something different. It's live. It's funny. It's ART.
